Editing Rise courses offline

Hi everyone! I work for a company that uses an enclosed network (no internet).

This is what I need to do:

  1. Log into Articulate on computer with network access.
  2. Create everything in my course that is not company proprietary. For example, here is the schematic for our newest product, with a graphic placeholder, here is the proprietary technical information, text placeholder.
  3. Publish, upload to enclosed network.
  4. Swap out graphics and information for the placeholders.

I tried this with a course and opened it in Adobe Dreamweaver. My intention was to update the text and graphics by copy/pasting and updating the graphic links but it will not let me do it.

Is anyone else doing this? On the closed network I have SL 3 but I learned you can't edit Rise courses, you can only add SL3 blocks to the course.

Thank you!

  • Rise is an online application, so you have to be connected to the internet to use it.

This might work for the graphics:

    • Insert placeholder images that match the dimensions of the actual images you want to use. Each image should have text that specifies what the real image will be.
    • Publish the course.
    • Optional but recommended: Make a copy of the course files (or, at least, the assets folder) as a backup/reference.
    • In the assets folder, identify the placeholder images. Replace each one with the corresponding proprietary image that has been given the exact name used in the published assets.
    • After all of the images have been replaced, test the course to ensure the images are where they should be.

Unfortunately, I don't know a way to edit the text in the published course.
