Having your Storyline file close/crash after pressing save in Illustrator sounds frustrating! I have a few questions to better understand your issue.
- Is Illustrator completing the save before Storyline crashes?
- How big is the SVG file?
- Would you be willing to share your files here or reach out to our Support Engineers directly in a support case?
In the meantime, here is an article about SVG Support in Storyline 360. In the article, it mentions Photoshop by name as the SVG editor. If you have Photoshop, give that a try and hopefully you get a better result.
