Font size in Storyline and Moodle
Hi all,
The graphic designer on our team is working with Articulate Storyline and Moodle for the first time. He sees a difference in the point size between articulate running in a Moodle environment and the point size in InDesign, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
Does anyone else notice this difference? Is the problem in the Moodle environment or within Articulate? Is there any way to correct it?
Cheers, Julie
Hi Julie,
Is there a difference between the font size within the .story file or when viewing the story.html file once published and how it appears within Moodle, or is it just when he's viewing text from within a design program and then in your Storyline course?

Hi Ashley, He is comparing 42 pt font size in InDesign and 42 pt size in a .story file published and being displayed in Moodle.
Thanks Julie - and what font size does he think it is when viewing it that it's appearing off? If the 42 pt font appears correctly within the .story file and then once you've published the file it remains the same - I'm not sure I'm clear on the issue, as I can't speak to the InDesign font sizes and how they may compare with Storyline.

His point is that point size is a standard measurement. He thinks Articulate when published or Moodle does not display 42 point size in the standard size. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this same experience?
Hi Julie,
I don't have InDesign or any other graphic/editing software to take a look at this - but I also haven't heard this before from other users. Does he have some images to share that are taken at the same scale to help us see the issue he's experiencing?

20 font size in storyline is comparable to 28 in illustrator. It is real issue when designer and developer are different people.
Since Adobe products are leading in design I would strongly recommend articulate team to align font properties.
Thanks Dmitry for sharing that information with us here - this discussion is a bit older, but it's still worth sharing that insight and getting it into the hands of our Product team as well. You can also always share any ideas with our Product team in the form of a feature request too.

Hi wondering if the was actually ever an explanation of why Storyline differs the font size to other software, what the ratio conversion is or if there may be a resolution of this issue. I’ve seen various threads that still end the same.
Agree it is a real unnecessary problem from graphic design to development.
Hi Andrew!
Since this is a dated discussion, it would help to understand which version of Storyline you are using and the other program you see a different font size in. I want our Support Engineers to troubleshoot this with you. Please use this link to connect with a Support Engineer.

I'm also doing all the design and interactions in Figma and switch for development to Storyline. Depending the font type I usually have to increase font size by 3-4pt in Figma, but it is still not accurate and not really ideal. Would be great if Articulate could provide a better solution.
