free form question non graded
So, I created a scene in my training. The answer a multiple-choice question. when they get it right, they move to the next question which is a free form. Once they are done, I want a hidden layer to show up that goes over a detailed answer. Then they can move on to the next multiple-choice question. which also has a free form. When I finished the first one would not show the hidden layer and just goes to the next slide. The second one would show the hidden layer. I made sure it all matched (I believe they did).
When I took out our info on the slide to upload neither show the hidden screen. I am attaching in case anyone can explain a better way of accomplishing it. I choose the hidden screen because there was a lot of details shared.
Hi JakeDelaney,
Happy to help!
If you're referring to "Slide 1.3 Text Entry", the text input uses the TextEntry7 variable, while your trigger to show the hidden layer uses TextEntry1.
Adjusting the show layer to reference the correct variable should fix the issue. If this isn't the slide you are having trouble with, would you mind sharing specific details about how we can test the issue so we can take a closer look?

Thank you. Late last night I realized the reason 1 works and the other didn't was because I was referencing a different text entry box. However, your answer made thing a lot easier to see and I got there last time by sheer luck. Thanks for the answer
Hello JakeDelaney,
I'm glad that my colleague JoseTansengco was able to help you with your text entry trigger setup. Knowing that this resolved the issue on your end will be helpful to folks who come across this discussion!

so, here is the entire scene. I had to scrub it. In the first fill in the blank if you hit tab, it works but if you hit enter it bypasses the answer. In the second fill in the blank, enter does not move you, you have to hit tab which in turn reads the answer.
Hi JakeDelaney,
Thank you for following up and sharing your file with us!
I understand you were having trouble with the Enter key after completing the answer for the Text Entry. Are you intending to have folks use the Enter key instead of the Tab key?
- I got the Enter key to work by inserting a Show Layer Trigger and including the Continue button and file folder on the Review slide layer. Here's a closer look at my adjustments and a quick demo. I'll attach the updated .story file to my reply.
Please let me know if you're looking for something else or have any other questions! I am happy to investigate this further.

I wasn't intending them to use the enter key, however when I had it in review 360 and people were testing it, we found if someone hit enter, they avoided the answer slide, I could not figure out why
