Getting Frustrated
This is the third time this has happened to me. I was getting ready to preview a slide, and storyline crashed. I opened it up again, and it had lost all of my changes since the last save which was this morning. I had set my storyline options to autosave every 3 minutes. So I went to the %appdata% folder for storyline, and tried to open the .tmp file that was created with the timestamp of when I was trying to preview the slide. Tried opening that with storyline (hadn't renamed it to .story), and unfortunately it said the file was corrupt and instead it opened a version from the end of my day yesterday, which is even worse. I'm afraid to rename it to .story because I'm worried it may corrupt it even further.
I don't know what else to do. I'm saving when I think of it, but isn't auto save supposed to be working better than this and do the thinking for me?
I can't upload the .tmp file for someone to look at because it is too big.
Please help!

Hi BarbHall,
I’m sorry to hear that Storyline 360 is crashing and that you’re losing your recent changes.
Let’s start with a fresh installation of Storyline 360 to ensure the app is running smoothly.
For the .tmp file, you can safely rename it to a .story file after copying it to your desktop or Documents folder. That won’t cause corruption and may help you recover your latest work.
Regarding autosave, it should generally protect your progress. File corruption is unpredictable. To help prevent this in the future, here are some helpful tips on reducing the risk of project corruption.
If the crashes continue after reinstalling or you need assistance with your project file, please don’t hesitate to open a support case. Our support engineers will be happy to take a closer look and help you get things back to normal.
Please let me know if you need anything else.
