GIF restarts with a hotspot on top of it

I have a project that has a GIF, a hotspot, and some shapes on top that will take the learner to different layers when clicked on. The issue is, for some reason, the GIF restarts playing wh...
On your layers, have you tried adjusting the layer properties to "pause the timeline of the base layer"? I suspect if you do, the gif will just keep playing from where it left off, but hard to know without seeing your .story file!

Please find the .story file attached. This is not my exact project, but it does have the GIF I want to use, and I have recreated the settings on this file :)
Basically, the learner has to click on the shapes to open the layers, and the GIF has to continue its course without repeating every time they click on the numbers.
