Hi Lauren.... Are heading styles set at the slide master level or at the project level? Based on the article you shared above, it looks like this is at the project level, since it mentions only setting the styles when on a content slide; it doesn't mention anything about setting styles in the master slides.
However, when you import slides, the heading styles differ at the slide master level. I imported two slides from our team slides, and the imported heading styles are incorrect. As you can see in the attached recording, the first master (the original one for this project) has Arial 20 pt. bold set for the H1 (slide title), but the second master (imported with the two slides) has Arial 24 pt. no bold. No attempts to reset the second master's style work to pick up the first master's style settings, but if the styles are set at the project level, they should apply to all masters and slides when you reset the style.
If you think that this isn't working as expected (e.g., that the heading styles should apply across the project), I can create a bug report.
Thanks,
Lisa

Hello Lisa!
Heading Styles can be set at the project level or slide master level. When importing slides, the heading style from the current project are prioritzed over the heading styles set in the imported project.
The heading style can be different in each Slide Master layout too. Here's a 2-minute tutorial on setting the Heading style when using multiple Slide Master layouts.

Hi Lauren,
Thank you for your response and the tutorial. Unfortunately, the tutorial doesn't really address my question.
What do you mean by "prioritized"? Shouldn't that mean that the heading style from the current project should be applied to imported slides, not that they should retain the styles from before? If yes, that's not the case.

Hi, Lauren. That video link no longer works. Would you please share the current link? Thanks very much. - Carol

Hello Carol!
I see that the link expired. In that video, I explained to Lisa how the heading style is based on the Slide Master used. I'm happy to help you directly! Are you running into an issue with the heading style?
