Hide items in Top Bar (Player Tabs, Menu)

Hi All!

Anyone know if the ability to hide certain items in the Top Bar (aka the menu at the top of the player--where the RESOURCES are located *see attached image), based on the current slide, is possible?

(Similar to the way you can customize the Player Features [MENU, GLOSSARY, SEEKBAR, RESOURCES, NOTES] from the Story View slide settings. )

Example:

        • I am doing a course with two languages in the same file (for reporting purposes).
        • I have a USER GUIDE on the Top bar that, when clicked, triggers a lightbox, that shows learners how to navigate the course.
        • I have created another item in the Top bar called GUIDE DE L'UTILISATEUR for those completing the French branch of the course.
        • I would love the ability to only show the USER GUIDE option on the English slides and only the GUIDE DE L'UTILISATEUR for the French slides.

I have a work-around currently where I am only calling the item GUIDE (a work in French and English), which brings up a lightbox with an option to chose English or French, taking the user to a layer with the desired language, but it would give the lesson a more professional feel if I could simply toggle the items in the Top bar menu on and off according to the slide.

Cheers,

Thanks in advance for any tips!

  • Hi Laura,

I'm happy to chime in. Storyline 360 does not have a built-in option to hide custom tabs in the player on individual slides. But we have this logged as a feature request, so I'll go ahead and include your voice. Here's a peek into our process for managing feature requests.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
