Hiding lessons in Rise
Does anyone know if you can hide lessons in Rise, and then unhide them later? We have some system enhancements going live in August and some in September. I dont want to have to delete any lessons i've already created.
Thanks!

Thanks for your reply EricSantos.
I also thought about creating the material I'd like to hide as a separate rise course and linking to it in my main course content (via a quick link). However, there are two issues with this:
1) I could only link to the course, not a specific lesson in it, which makes navigation clunky.2) The AI Tutor couldn't read its content, which makes it unhelpful for my end users.
So, for now, I'll find a workaround. Though I'm happy to know it's on the radar, even if it doesn't have a timeline. :)

I'd also like to see this feature. Here are a couple of use case examples for why.
Use Case 1: I have a course on reports. End users only need to know 5 reports, but there are like 17. I'd like to be able to link to little hidden mini lessons they can click on if they'd like to know more about a specific report that isn't common.
Use Case 2: I have some users who only need certain lessons within a course. I'd like them to be able to click a button to say "I'm a nurse" or "I'm a receptionist" and then only the relevant content in the course would show for them.
Thank you!Hi SarahSampara-24,
Thanks for adding your voice, and for sharing two clear use cases. I appreciate you taking the time to explain the reports course and the role-based paths. It sounds like you’d like learners to see only the content that applies to them, with extra detail available when they want it.
At the moment, Rise doesn’t have a way to hide individual lessons from the course menu. For your reports example, you can link text or images to a specific lesson, such as a short lesson on a report learners don’t use often. For role-based paths, a button block can send learners to a different lesson. Those lessons will still show in the menu, though.
I’m not able to share a timeline for hiding lessons in Rise.
Your two examples show clearly why this matters for personalizing a course.

Hello everyone,
I'm happy to let you know we released a new update for Rise 360! This update adds the following feature:
- Automatically collapse sections in sidebar and compact navigation.
There's nothing to install for web apps. New features and fixes are immediately available, though you might need to publish your Rise 360 course again.
Let me know if you have any questions about this update.
Hi Jennifer!
Thanks for chiming in and sharing your thoughts with us. I've gone ahead and shared your thoughts about hiding lessons with our product team.
We'll be sure to update this discussion if we have any news to share in the future!
Have a great day!

Chiming in! I would love to see hiding lessons as a feature so it can be paired with the button stack feature! It would be super handy for the course I am currently working on.

Hi, we would like the ability to hide individual lessons too, especially those underneath button stacks, as we only want them to be visible when the learner clicks on the button, rather than in the menu. We want the rest of the menu to be visible though, so do not want to turn the whole navigation menu/side bar off.
Thanks for your feedback, Hazel! I've informed our product team of your comments. If this feature is included in a future Rise 360 release, the rest of the menu will still be visible if navigation is on, and you can hide individual lessons from the menu.
We'll update this discussion if there are any changes that will help.
Thank you for the grace, Adam!
Those use cases are really helpful when we tell the story of why customers need enhancements -- thanks for taking the time to share.
I've counted your vote for hiding lessons, as well as starting with the navigation menu collapsed.

I'd like to chime in in September of 2023 that this is a feature I'd like to see. (I see there is a lot of mention recently).
I've also seen requests for starting with the nav menu closed (like Storyline), and these seem to fit with that as well. For this thread, I'll say that I'd like to have an option in the ellipsis (...) of the edit screen to hide this lesson from view. For me, this is helpful for drafts and versions. We have drafts for approval, and 1 person wants something separate, while another wants it included, and I could duplicate and just hide a lesson, instead of deleting to appease 1 person who's idea may be overwritten between full-approvals.
Similarly, we have multiple versions across the globe, and they all start with me. So I could create 1 course to share to everyone & hide certain lessons from my export, without making duplicates to track each version that gets shared. Presently, I just make my version, and tell them to change it themself, but I'd love to be able to "easily" do it for them.Just making a note that I support this request moving forward. I am in no way unhappy Articulate for this not yet existing. <3

I'll chime in here too. This option would allow easy integration of 508 accessibility features, and this is crucial for Rise adoption within our organization.

WOW! I did not expect to find so many requests for this functionality.
I would also like to have a hide lesson functionality.
