Hover options for tablets
Is there a "long tap" option for Hover states on tablets & phones? I've got a hover/reveal screen for system orientation and there are about 15 layers.
I'm hesitant to put an additional trigger to "click" the hot spot, because that will show the layer but takes user intervention to close it, unlike the hover, where when the mouse loses focus, the layer disappears.
What are your solutions for this type of interaction on non-mouse devices?

If I understand your question, using Hover states or show layers on hover, work in mobile, by long pressing. The reveal stays only while the button is being pressed, once the item is released the hover disappears.
