How do I activate the new Transcript button for learners to use?
Is there a way to show/hide the transcript panel without the video control navigation bar being switched on to light or dark? i.e. the JavaScript toggle buttons do not work if the video controls are set to show none.
I have a video which I want users to control from the main seek bar and not the video controls. Its a webinar type video in a circle in the corner of the screen, so the controls are not necessary.

Hi HVfb0f498d-053b!
Great question!
Currently, in Storyline 360, the Transcript panel is directly tied to the Accessible Video Controls bar. If Video Controls are set to 'None', Storyline will not create the Transcript overlay in the published output. Any JavaScript set to "click the Transcript button" will have nothing to reference/click.
However, another community member shared a workaround you may want to explore for a similar design:
- Set the Video Controls to Light or Dark.
- Use your own custom Buttons on the Slide to toggle the Transcript via the JavaScript "click" simulation. This can only function when the Transcript button is enabled.
- Hide the Video Control panel visually with an overlayed Shape, so learners cannot access those options.
- Execute the JavaScript to toggle your Transcript from your custom Buttons.
Hope this helps!
