How do you track course version history?
Hello Everyone, 🎉
I'm happy to let you know we released a new update for Rise 360! This update adds the following feature:
- Save and restore your work with a click via an easy-to-access version list that captures manual saves and export events.
There's nothing to install for web apps. New features and fixes are immediately available. Let me know if you have any questions about this update.
- Save and restore your work with a click via an easy-to-access version list that captures manual saves and export events.
Thanks for your reply, Eric.
But I still think it would be even more ideal to be able to save our source files to our local computers so that we can manage our own version control.
I know for a fact that many of my past employers would never accept a product that doesn't support local content backups.

Storyline 360 has a single file stored on your local computer that contains the entire course.
However, Rise 360 courses are not designed that way, and there isn't a single file that contains the entire course that you can download to your computer.

I appreciate you sharing your use case, Shawn. A local save would indeed be helpful for version management. I agree with Karl that this workflow currently applies more to Storyline 360 than to Rise. You can back up the Storyline files for local version control.
Right now, we are tracking votes for a versioning system that is done online within the Rise platform. But we understand your need, so I'll add your request regarding Rise backups that can be stored on your local computer and uploaded back to the Rise platform for editing as needed. We'll let you know if this feature is possible and make it in future enhancements!
