How to change a few things

I am a not so experienced Storyline user and have a question. I used a template and something went wrong with it I think. I have a slide with a menu containing chapters with white text with an orange background. Wherein one now hovers the mouse over it, in one chapter the entire background turns light blue and in the other only part. Here the text is in an orange block and around it part of the blue background is visible. I want the whole box to be a different colour when one hovers over it. When one has clicked in the chapters, the blue part turns grey. I don't want the latter, but I want a V-sign there later when one has gone through that whole chapter. Who can help me?
