How to embed/insert a PDF into Storyline

My client has a Google slide deck that he published as a PDF. He wants the PDF to be in a Storyline course. I cannot figure out how to do this.

I've attached the deck and the PDF below.

Hi cynthiaLyons it sounds like you might be just starting our with Storyline and so I would recommend working through some tutorials to get to know the software better.

    Here are some Storyline tutorials.

To stop the slide auto progressing, you can select the Slide(s) from the STORY VIEW and then use the Properties for multiple slides and update the Slide advances property to By User.

  • Hi cynthiaLyons

I came across this post and noticed that you uploaded Virginia Mason's full Annual Update. I also work for a hospital system and manage our system's Annual Update. I wanted to caution you about uploading client content, like this, into a public forum. I wouldn't want you to face any legal or other repercussions. I hope this message finds you well. All the best, Will

Thank you! You've been so helpful. Hey, do you know if you can embed a PDF into SL, such as if you convert the PPT to a PDF?

You can, but results are mixed. You can use what is called a WebObject to load in a PDF so that it can be viewed in the browser. This tutorial discuses embed and linking to PDF: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21cHZoGPmi8

Thank you. That article was a huge help. I was able to import the PPT into storyline. My next question is:

Right now the PPT slides within SL advance automatically without clicking next. How do I stop the automatic advance?

Although you mentioned some really good options, he wants to convert the PPT into a Storyline course.

There will be a few resources available. Try this one: https://community.articulate.com/kb/user-guides/storyline-360-importing-slides-from-powerpoint/1114293

  • Hi cynthiaLyons what do you mean by "He wants the PDF to be in a Storyline course".

Do you mean as a link. For example, a user selects a link and views the PDF in a new browser tab?

Do you mean viewing the PDF embedded in a slide? For example, the use selects a link which opens a layer containing the PDF?

Or do you mean converting the PPT file to a Storyline course?
