How to turn off the 'disable skip navigation button' feature
Hello Rebecca!
If you turn off all the player tabs (menu, notes, etc), Storyline turns off the skip navigation shortcut (also known as the Back to Top button) for you, and the player setting to disable it is grayed-out.
Are you hearing this when previewing the project or in the published output? Also which screen reader are you using?
Thanks Lauren, I have had a feature request submitted to enable the check box when all the player features are disabled in the top bar.
I am using Voice Over on a mac, accessing a version published to Review.
It is very annoying to have to listen to all the seek bar, settings, and accessibility settings before I can select the player 'next' button on each screen, but the Voice Over screen reader will not return me to the top of each slide unless the next button in the player is used -if I insert a custom button to move to a new slide, the voice over skips to the end of the new slide, and with no 'return to start' option, I cannot replay the slide.
I have now added an invisible 'next' button on each slide, and a button on the very first slide that asks if the user is using Voice Over on a mac. If they are, I set all the invisible 'next ' buttons to be hidden, and set the navigation to jump over the menu pages. I'm hoping that a JAWs or NVDA user will now be able to skip all the seek bar/accessibility content, but a Voice Over user will have to endure it so that they can get to the start of the next page.
It would be great if the Voice Over issue could be fixed because I could just leave my invisible next button accessible to all screen reader users.
