HTML Notepad for Rise
Hi Chris, good to hear you find this useful. In terms of being able to save the notes (and export them to Word) see the D4 file below. It's a Storyline file containing JavaScript so just import it into the Rise Storyline block. It has more advanced editing features too!
The D4 file contains an Execute JavaScript trigger but which can be used in Storyline projects. It also allows the learner to make and save multiple versions of their notes throughout the course and export on the fly all or some of them to a Word document.
It can be reused multiple times either in the same or different lessons/course and they are both persistent, so the learner does not lose their note when the course closes.
Grateful if you could let me know how you found them, and I would be happy to receive any feedback. Joe
JoeDey, what ID or lines of code would I need to change to make separate notepads? In either the Rise or Storyline version, or both. Currently, when I use the code block, the notepads persist across all projects that use it. I would love to use this in some of my courses, but it would have greatest utility if the notepad for each project was unique, or in some cases was unique each time it appeared/was deployed.
Perhaps I'm missing something totally obvious to make the notepad function this way, but any guidance you could provide would be much appreciated!

Hi Michael,
You have come across a deliberate design element of that version of the notepad. I have attached a different version of it, which does almost everything you wanted, but not quite everything.
There is a lot of code I'm afraid but it does the job. Just copy it into your Rise block or blocks and let it do its thing. You can have as many instances of it open in as many lessons in the course as you wish.
Take a look and see what you think. As always I have my trusted AI package (Harry) to thank. I would appreciate any feedback and usage scenario ideas.
