I am unsure what the screen reader should be staying focused on in this interactive slide

Hi all,

I have a slide where there is an incomplete sentence with 2 missing words. The user can click on 2 boxes and it will cycle between various options.

eg.

Bob is wearing a (blank) hat because he loves to go (blank)

BOX 1: Hard, Bucket, Top

BOX 2: Caving, Swimming, Jogging

Part of me thinks after the user clicks either box, I should set focus on the sentence so the user can hear the word in context with the sentence.

However if they are cycling through the options, I also don't know if it is a good idea to force the user off the boxes "buttons", because that means everytime they click, they are forced to hear the sentence when they might just want to hear the options.

Is there an accessibility design preference for this? Always hear a changed sentence or always stay on the button and let them nagivate back to the sentence if they want to hear it?
