In Public Beta: Brands

Hello, everyone! We’re excited to introduce Brands, now available in Rise 360.

Watch the video below for a quick walkthrough, or explore the full documentation to learn how to create, apply, and manage brands.

(Update) By default, everyone can create and edit brands, but this permission can be restricted to admins only. All creators on the account can apply brands.

After trying it out, please complete our short feedback survey. We’d especially love to hear what additional settings, permission options, and bulk actions your team needs.

  • Good news! We've got another update.

You can now bulk apply Brands to multiple courses. This is available in your Private folder and in any team folder where you have Owner or Manager permissions.

    1. Hover over and select the items you'd like to modify.
    2. Click the Apply Brands icon in the upper-right of the dashboard.
    3. Select a brand from the list and click Apply.

Once you apply a brand to a training, the name is listed on its dashboard content card.

One thing that I would love to see somewhere in Rise options - maybe in the Brand would be enough - is the ability to select a default font size. We tend to make our font larger since we have quite a few older people in our workforce. Having to select the body font and change it in every block is so tedious. It might be nice to have it outside the Brand, though.

  • This looks like a useful update for teams managing multiple projects. Having flexible brand permissions and the ability for creators to apply brands should make the workflow much easier.

Kyle_Clements Admin still had to grant permission on mine this morning, so I'm not sure brand permissions does default to everyone. I accessed via EU instead of US in case that affects things.

    • Thank you for this comment! I passed it along to one of our engineers who is getting this resolved. We really appreciate your help during this beta!

I need to apply more than one logo. For example, I could have a project logo and a funding logo, or partner logos (I work for a charity, so we often work together with other charities or have sponsors).  It would be good to have the option for placing multiple logos in a course.

This is amazing, Kyle! Didn't know we were working on that one but this is huge.

Kyle_Clements This seems to be replied to my comment and marked as a solution, but I'm not sure this is a solution to my problem (maybe I'm misunderstanding).

I was talking about uploading multiple logos rather than just being able to upload one.

Where we upload logos to a brand, I seem only able to upload one logo. Obviously I can make a strip or something but bits woud be cut off when it's on my course. I work for a charity so there could be, for example, three charities, or a government agency and three charities working on the same project. How can I add multiple logos to a single brand template?

You can only add a single logo to a brand/Rise course.

Hi! I'm super excited about Brands, and I'm still playing around. But I'm having some trouble uploading a logo. Currently I've uploaded a 2894 x 948 PNG 300 dpi exported from an EPS in Illustrator. The quality looks good when I preview the image by itself, but it looks really pixelated in the course. I know the guide recommended a square image, but I can't imagine the aspect ratio would impact quality like this.

Is there any guidance on the approximate size, resolution, and file type to use for the logo?

This looks like a really useful addition to Rise 360, especially for teams managing multiple courses or projects. The ability to create and apply consistent branding should make it much easier to maintain a professional look across content. I also like that the permissions can be restricted to admins when needed. Looking forward to seeing how the feature evolves based on user feedback!

The new Brands feature looks really useful, especially for keeping courses consistent across a team. I also like the idea of being able to apply a brand to multiple courses at once. The permission controls sound like a good improvement too, since different teams may need different levels of access.

Is there any update on integrating Adobe fonts? I know this was a request several years back, but there's not a way to export fonts and upload them in Adobe fonts. There should be a way to integrate without violating Adobe license requirements.

  • is there a reason when using brands, flashcards is defaulted to use the heading font instead of body? Also, for the statement as well it uses the heading font instead of body. Wondering if this is intentional

Hi BridgetBorsa-13, good catch, and yes, this is intentional rather than a side effect of Brands.

A number of Rise blocks are set to always use the headings font rather than the body font, regardless of what theme or brand is applied. Statement B and Statement C fall into that group, along with the flashcard grid and flashcard stack blocks you mentioned. This isn't something Brands changed, it's existing behavior tied to how those blocks are built, Brands just makes it more noticeable since font consistency across a course matters more once you're relying on a brand preset.

There's a full list of which blocks use the headings font here, Rise 360 Listing Headings Font Usage by Block. Worth keeping handy if you're planning which blocks to use alongside your custom body font.
