Is it possible to make a motion path that traces a circular arc?

The Arc isn't a good choice for the motion path you want to follow.
The attached file has two examples: one uses a Curve, and the other uses a Freeform motion path.
To get either to follow the desired path requires multiple clicks. When you add the path, first click the starting position. Then click at points along the path. Finally, double-click at the end point.
The path-lines displayed when you're editing the slide might not look perfect. But the movement should be smooth and even enough when previewing or publishing the slide.
You're right about the freeform curve path. It does move much smoother than it appears in the editor.
I just tried the Scribble motion path, and that works nicely, too. With that, you draw the path with your mouse, as if drawing with a pencil. So, depending on the path, as well as how steady your hand is, that's another easy way to get the exact path you want.
