Is there an update on converting edited View Mode for Try and Test Mode?
Hello!
I made a screen recording of how to use a software and the original recording when entered into Articulate 360 was 165 slides in View Mode. After deleting slides that were either mistakes or not needed, I was left with 81. I would like to now insert Try and Test modes using the edited 81 slides and not have to reinsert and re-edit the entire recording two more times.
I found two discussions here in the Community that say this feature has been added to the request list, but both of these discussions are from several years ago.

Screen recording used for multiple modes | E-Learning Heroes
Has this feature been added in any way? If not, can you at least let us know where it is on the list?

Hi DougB72,
I see what you’re running into here. That’s a lot of cleanup work to redo, especially after trimming your slides down.
Here’s how this works today. Once a screen recording is inserted as View Mode, there isn’t a way to convert that edited version into Try or Test modes. Those modes need to be selected at the time you insert the recording.
You can reuse the original screen recording file and insert it again as Try or Test mode, but any edits you made to the View Mode version, like deleting or refining slides, won’t carry over. So I can see why this quickly turns into extra work.
You’re also right to call out those older discussions. This is something that’s been requested before, and I can understand why it continues to come up given the workflow impact. Being able to reuse an already edited recording across modes would be a big time-saver.
I’ve shared your use case with our product team. We’re continuing to track this need, especially for scenarios like yours where significant edits have already been made.
