Issues with states and triggers
I am constantly having issues with states and triggers. One time it seems to work fine and the next time it won't. Sometimes Format Painting works and sometimes it doesn't. Attached is a sample of one I can't get to work and I don't know why.
1. On the 2 left-hand shapes, it should apply the glow when they hover and outline in purple when they have visited.
2. On the top box, the glow works on the hover. When I click, the purple border flashes and then goes away.
3. On the bottom box, the glow works on the hover. The purple border does not show up at all.
4. Does it matter the order in the Trigger section? I try to get them to display in order but I can't find a way to move/drag them into position.
I looked thru topics in the community and directions in a book I have but can't find a solution for whatever I'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like part of the issue is that you are using triggers at all. If you are using the built-in states like HOVER or VISITED - you do not need triggers to change to those states. They have built in functionality. Adding triggers can in many cases (your case) - will break the functionality Storyline is already trying to implement.

Your hover State glow is different. The easy fix is to copy and paste the box. Second, what should happen when you click on the box. Does a layer open?

I figured it out. It looks like you had too many triggers. You don't need a trigger to change state of visited. I have attached a repaired slide.

Thanks, everyone.
Eric, that works, thanks. It's supposed to change the state of the box on the left and the content on the right.
Ron, I read similar content in my book but didn't get that I didn't need triggers. So I just need to go into each state and make the changes I want, correct?
Thanks

Correct - if you delete the triggers to change states, you should be golden
