Key press triggers on slides with multiple layers

Sorry to hear that you ran into this snag. Would you mind sharing a copy of your project file here or in private through a support case so we can take a look at what's happening?
I did a quick test using the 'Enter' key to open two consecutive layers and it worked for me, so I'd like to see how my test file looks like compared to yours to understand why the key press triggers are not working as expected for you.
