Is there an easy way to resize them to ensure all columns are the same width? i.e. in Excel I can define the column width; how can I do this in Rise360?
Rise 360 does not have Excel type column width functionality.
Hey Steven! I know your reply is 2 years old, but for what it's worth, there's a huge difference between what you say:

And the truth, which is more like:
You can try to adjust the width of columns in Rise 360 by clicking and dragging the internal column dividers of the table, left or right. But Rise will decide where to break text and lines in a cell, will consider your dragging a mere suggestion and after a almost imperceptible time of consideration, will determine that you have no idea what you are doing and decide to ignore your request.
When you drag cells, to the left, sometimes the cell expands left, sometimes right, sometimes it doesn't at all.
Selecting multiple cells of text to edit with the nightmare of a contextual menu this thing has is impossible, don't tell me to hold down shift and press the arrow keys, no matter how you do it, you always select the cell, not the text. If you try to drag select, and you click in the wrong 1/100th of a pixel, it assumes you want to drag the cell completely and puts it somewhere else.
Tables are BEYOND infuriating. If this platform spent less time on things no one is asking for like AI images or generative frivolities and focus on what we need which is a table and context menu that works.

I completely understand how frustrating it can be when something as simple as resizing or selecting elements of a table, doesn’t behave the way you expect.
Because Rise lessons are designed to automatically adapt to different screen sizes, the editor sometimes overrides manual column widths to keep tables readable on smaller devices. We’ve heard similar feedback from other authors, and our product team is aware of how challenging this can be. I’ve shared your insights with them so they can see exactly how this affects the workflows of our users.
In the meantime, a few tips that might help a bit:
- Limiting the number of columns as tables with fewer columns tend to resize more predictably.
- When editing text, click into the cell first before selecting, to avoid triggering the cell-level menu.
- Slower, smaller drags on column dividers tend to “stick” more reliably than fast movements.
Also, to your other question KarlMuller was helping with. Clicking into a cell, and holding SHIFT+Arrow Key does allow you to select a certain row or group of cells quickly. However, this only activates the cell formatting menu, and not the secondary text editor itself.
I understand this may feel restrictive, and also slow down your authoring process. I've shared this feedback with our product team as well!
It would be great to have a "distribute evenly" option in the context menu so we can make all columns or rows the same width or height, respectively. It would also be great to have a pop-up tooltip with x/y position and pixel width/height like when editing a shape in a custom block. This functionality exists in the custom block editor, and it'd be great if it could be added for tables. I've already submitted this as a feature request.
Right now, I literally am using a ruler on my screen to make sure the columns are the same width. I understand the responsive design will allow the table to move effectively for screen size, but since the column fits completely on my screen (and on most of our learners' screens), it is clear one column is wider than another. So, I have to manually drag to get it approximately right visually. This is frustrating. I'm fine if all columns/rows are as large as the largest cell--I just need a way to easily make them the same size in one click.
