Looking for examples of alt text for math equations
Hi everyone, the Storyline team is currently exploring ways to support math equations and we've heard from several customers that accessibility, specifically screen reader support, is very important....

Hi Annie,
This is an exciting development—accessibility for math equations is such an important feature! For alt text, the approach often depends on the complexity of the equation:
- Short Descriptions: These work well for simple equations. For example, "x equals 5" for x = 5.
- Long Descriptions: These are essential for more complex equations. For instance, for a quadratic equation like ax^2 + bx + c = 0, the alt text could describe it as "A quadratic equation where a, b, and c are constants and x is the variable."
In some cases, combining both is helpful—providing a brief overview in the alt text and linking to a more detailed explanation if necessary.
Let me know if you'd like specific examples of complex equations or more feedback—I’d be happy to assist! you can check examples of like these questions here.
