Menu item focus order

Hi, I know that you can navigate through the menu items using the arrows, but is there any way I can do this with the Tab button only? Also, I have a slide for each of my sidebar. When I press enter/spacebar to expand it, it also plays the slide audio. Is there any way that it can be expanded without playing the slide? Thank you.

  • Hello Lin,

    Happy to help!

There isn't a way to navigate through a slide with just the tab button since some non-interactive elements can only be read through the use of the arrow keys. You can read more about how screen readers are able to navigate Storyline 360 courses here:

As for your accessibility question regarding slide audio, the best way to make slides more accessible is to prevent audio from automatically playing when your learners navigate to them. You can check out my response here which addresses a similar inquiry.

    Hope this helps!

  • Hello, thank you for the information. I apologize for the misunderstanding. I am referring to the area outside of the slide, the sidebar where the Menu is located. I have to use the arrow keys to move through each menu items, otherwise the focus is on Notes. Is there a way that I can use the tab button to move through the menu items instead?

      Hi Lin,

My apologies for the confusion. I meant to say Player where I said 'slide' in my previous response, but the answer is still the same. You'll need to use a combination of the tab key and the arrow keys to navigate through the Player's menu.
