Narration Edits Crackle

Hello everyone,

I am having trouble with my audio narration edits. Once I record a piece of audio, to narrate the slide, I edit the audio to remove any errors or loud breaths. I am always careful to leave silence between the end of statement, the breath, and the new statement so it's easy to remove. However, 90% of the time I "silence" or delete a section, their is a crackle sound left when it's replayed. A sound I cannot seem to remove or delete.

I have narrated for years in other authoring tools and not had this issue, but this is my first time editing vocals in Articulate 360 Storyline, and I'm unsure how to remedy the situation without simply leaving the vocals unedited (which I would like to avoid). The crackle is small, but it's noticeable.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a solution or trick to it?
