Thanks for the details.
I'm not seeing that behavior in my brief test. Check out my published course here. The Exit Course buttons closes the browser as expected for me. What behavior do you see?
I'm not sure how long ago your course was exported, but we did have an issue that was corrected on May 24.
If it was prior to that date, you should be all set to re-export your course and have it work as expected. Let me know if you run into any issues.

Thank you for helping me out. Now we know, because of your brief test, that the problem is not because of Rise but it's in our academy. So we have to look for a solution there. Thanks!
