Picture border retention

I have an image that I placed a border on in the "format picture" menu. I also have zoom on this image. When previewing the page, I click on the image and it zooms correctly, but the border is not retained.  Is there a way to keep the border on the zoomed image?

  • Hello Sharon,

Sorry to hear you are running into this. Happy to help!

It looks like the Format > Line Color settings don't appear when the picture is using the Zoom picture feature.

I'd like to suggest this workaround:

    1. Insert the original picture on the slide in its full size. From there, you will insert a line color by right-clicking on the image selecting the Format Picture button, and going to the Line Color tab. Choose Solid line and select the color of your choice and close the window.

    2. Next, right-click on the picture and choose Export Picture> Save Picture. This will export the picture with the line color applied in the image.

    3. Then, right-click on the picture again and choose to Replace Picture > Picture from File. You will want to select the new image you have just saved with the line included.

    4. Finally, resize the picture to the desired smaller size on the slide and apply the Zoom Picture feature.

I have attached a sample Storyline file to this post so you can take a closer look at an example I completed using an image from our Content Library.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

      Thanks,
I know I can alter the picture itself and use it, I was wondering if I was
missing something about the missing border. It seems that if you format a
picture, that format should be retained upon zoom.

  • Hi Sharon,

The zoom region only zooms in on a singular image which means that borders and shading are not included in the zoom action.

I’ll be happy to pass your thoughts on how to improve this feature to our product team, but you can also feel free to detail them more through a feature request!
