Hi Everyone!
I'm happy to share that we just released Storyline 360 (Build 3.83.31444.0) which includes the fix for the bug where a play button shows even if there is no media file on the first slide and there is a closed caption file.
Now all you need to do is update Storyline 360 in your Articulate 360 desktop app to take advantage of the newest bug fixes and features!

It looks like the issue is caused by the latest version of Storyline 3.82.31354.0 (Nov 28/23). Rolling back to previous version 3.81.31200.0 (Nov 7/23) fixed it for me.
