Preparing for Quick Share

Hi! Reaching out ahead of the Quick Share release with a few questions.

  1. Will existing preview links continue to work as-is (as preview links), if they have been shared with others prior to the update? Specifically, will there be any disruption or changes to accessing content shared via preview link?
  2. To confirm, we will be able to create a new Quick Share link for existing courses to view analytics?
  3. What are the limitations, if any, on who can view a Quick Share link? (location, etc.)

Thanks in advance!

  • Hi GabbyCregan! I'm happy to answer your questions!

    1. Will existing preview links continue to work as-is (as preview links), if they have been shared with others prior to the update? Specifically, will there be any disruption or changes to accessing content shared via preview link?
      1. If you've previously shared your content via a Preview link, those links will still work. They won't begin to gather engagement information as a Quick Share link until you publish an update and distribute that new link. Please note that Preview link views prior to Quick Share link sharing aren't counted.
    2. To confirm, we will be able to create a new Quick Share link for existing courses to view analytics?
      1. You'll need to publish an update and distribute that new link in order to take advantage of the Quick Share link and analytics.
    3. What are the limitations, if any, on who can view a Quick Share link? (location, etc.)
      1. Quick Share links can be shared with any learner, not just members of your organization. These links take learners directly to the content without needing to sign in.

      Hi there,

I've got a couple follow up question to the last point as it's not entirely clear in the FAQs which state:

"Note: Content preview is available only for those users who are in the same regional data center. "

      and

"The Guestbook is enabled by default for Quick Share links. When enabled, learners must enter their email, first name, and last name to access shared training."

Will learners have to enter their name and email address to access ALL shared courses using newly generated quick-share links or will there be a way of turning the guestbook off so that the same course can still be shared worldwide between data centres, as you mention users can go straight to the content and without needing to to log in?

        Hi StephenBalchin!

        Happy to jump in here!

Rise 360 QuickShare links are completely public, and can be shared with any individual regardless of the data center. Also, the recipient is not required to have an Articulate 360 subscription. Recipients are only required to enter their credentials if the Guestbook has been enabled for that specific course link.

Please let me know if you need anything else!
