Preventing Slide Completion until Slide Variable is Complete with Free Menu

I am hoping that this can be done. I am creating a course that will allow free menu access so users can jump to where they need to in the course when they look back at it, but it currently shows a check on the menu as soon as a slide is visited.  I am making the assumption that the check means that course is acknowledging the slide as complete and I need to limit this for certain slides where activities are required on the slide. I am uploading this on the web and into an LMS which the menu checks won't matter for web viewing, but when in the LMS I don't want it to mark as course complete until variables are true on certain slides.  I would like it to be reflected in the menu as well as not complete with the check mark not appearing until the slide variable is true.  The course completion trigger with variables pretty sure I have that under control, it is more how do I reflect that check as a slide complete on the menu?

  • Hi Cassandra,

You are correct; the checkmark in the menu indicates that a slide has already been viewed and cannot be controlled by triggers in Storyline. I'd defer to the JavaScript experts in our community for a possible workaround.

    Thanks for reaching out!
