Publish to Cmi5 in Storyline 360 and Rise 360
Good question, KyleNewell-4e9e. I checked directly in Storyline (Reporting and Tracking Options, LMS and Tracking tabs with cmi5 selected), and there's no field there for identifying objectives, just Course ID, AU ID, Launch URL, and completion-tracking conditions.
Before I give you a full comparison though, I want to make sure I understand what you're seeing in Rise specifically, could you point me to where in Rise's settings you're seeing Lessons identified or exported as objectives? That'll help me confirm whether this is something Storyline is genuinely missing, or whether I'm misunderstanding the comparison.
In my experience with Rise, the Description populates the description field in my LMS, and each Lesson Title populates as a course objective.

Hi KyleNewell-4e9e,
Thanks for clarifying. That helps explain the comparison you’re seeing between Rise 360 and Storyline 360.
From what you described, Rise 360’s Description is populating your LMS’s description field, and each Lesson Title is appearing as a course objective. As Eric noted, Storyline 360’s cmi5 reporting and tracking options don’t include a dedicated field for defining course objectives.
At this time, Storyline 360 doesn’t have an equivalent setting that exports course objectives the same way.
I’d love to understand your workflow a little better. Could you tell us more about how your LMS uses those objectives today? That context would help us better understand how this capability would support your learners or administrators.

Primarily, the objectives appear on a course overview page to help learners understand what to expect before diving into the content.
Ultimately, I'd love to learn what fields/settings could impact the cmi5 output for potential reporting ability, etc. I'm still fumbling along learning what items transfer over to the LMS, LRS, and what/how to label items, etc.- JMManalili19 days agoStaff
Hi KyleNewell-4e9e,
It’s helpful to understand how you’re using the objectives today. Knowing that they appear on your course overview page gives us more context on how learners use them before they begin.
I also appreciate you sharing that you’re still learning how the different Storyline fields and settings carry through to the LMS and LRS. That context helps us better understand your need for more clarity around how course information can be defined and carried into cmi5 for both learner-facing and reporting purposes.
