Hi tml,
Thanks for checking in, and I’m sorry you’re still running into this. I know how frustrating it is when file size limits prevent deployment.
Since you’re already on the latest version of Storyline 360, this is unlikely to be the earlier bug that was fixed in Update 66. When this happens now, it’s usually tied to something specific in the project.
The two most effective things to check are:
- Review the Media Library (File > Media Library) and sort by size. Large images or videos, including ones that may no longer be visible on slides, are the most common cause of unexpectedly large published output. Several authors have traced major file size increases back to oversized or unused media assets.
- Check any embedded videos. Videos can significantly inflate the published zip size, especially if they’re high resolution. If possible, try re-encoding videos outside of Storyline before importing them, or temporarily remove a video and republish to see how much it affects the output size.
If the published file is still much larger than expected after checking those two areas, opening a support case would be the best next step. Even if you can’t share the project file, our support engineers can help you walk through targeted checks to narrow this down.
We’re happy to help you get this back to a deployable size.
