I'm not sure if this will answer your question but have you tried the following?
On your course click on THEME, on the menu to the left click on Blocks. Ensure that Entrance Block Animations are selected as ON. You can also click on Navigation in the menu and turn on or off the Navigation or change the type to sidebar, compact or overlay.
