Random selection from a question bank possible only ONCE?

Hi everyone.

I haven't found an answer in the forum yet, so I'm asking my question here.

It's pretty simple. I have a bank of 10 questions, all of which must be consulted, in random order. OK

If the learner fails to achieve 70% correct answers, they must restart the quiz. OK.

But the random order during the second attempt at the quiz is the SAME as the first attempt.

For example: questions 5, 6, 1, 9, etc. on the first attempt. Questions 5, 6, 1, 9, etc. on the second attempt. The same on the third attempt, and the fourth... You get the idea.

I would like a different random order for the 10 questions on each attempt, which is pretty obvious. Otherwise, what's the point of a random order?

Is this possible? I thought the “random order” function reset itself with each attempt. I've tried quite a few solutions and have already found a workaround that works.

Have I missed a built-in setting? Or an existing procedure?

Attached is a simplified demo (I use a blank slide at the end of the questionnaire to “exit” the question bank: one of my attempts to reset the random order by exiting the draw slide, without success).

Thank you in advance for your advice or feedback. Have a nice day.

  • Hey Thierry

Thanks for sharing the file. You are correct in your description of how this should work. I tested in a new build and it works fine.  I think the issue is that SL needs an official Results Slide with a Reset Results Trigger.  I have added that to your sample and it works as expected. • Perfect, RonPrice , and thank you very much. I should have thought of that. My DIY result slide wasn't quite doing the job. I just need to make a few adjustments to reset the counters to zero, and it'll be fine. Thanks again.

Those little nuances can be tricky - glad it worked
