Hi there - I'm hoping others will chime in more useful help but... for what it's worth... I tested some options several years ago including LearnDash and LearnPress (I can't remember the others). We we not happy with the overall implementation or features of these. It all just felt clunky. In the end, we chose to install Moodle and just link to it from a page in our Wordpress site. This is for our very small organization though and "your mileage may vary". I think it depends on what you need the LMS to do.

Oh - and I forgot - LearnDash doesn't support SCORM or xAPI out of the box. Another 3rd party add-on ($$) was required to use Storyline or Rise modules in LearnDash as learning objects (e.g. scores/completion reported).
