Reach360 Last Activity date is after Completion Date
- 29 days ago
Hi Kiomars! Thanks for taking a closer look at those records! That context really helps.
Yes, reassigning the same course by only updating the due date (without publishing a new version) can cause this behavior. When the course version doesn’t change, the system retains the original completion record, so reports may continue to show the earlier completion date even if the learner is marked Completed (2026).
If you need a new completion date for reporting purposes, the most reliable approach is to publish a new version and assign that version. Re-enrolling learners in the same version typically won’t generate a new completion date unless progress is reset and they complete the course again.
Hi Kiomars! Thanks for sharing the screenshot! That’s really helpful.
I can see why this looks off. When Last Activity shows 2026 but the Completion Date shows 2024 or 2025, it usually means the learner launched the 2026 assignment but did not finish it.
Here’s the key difference:
- Last Activity updates anytime the course is opened.
- Completion Date only updates when the learner fully completes that version.
To confirm, open one of those learner records and review their 2026 attempt details. If there is no recorded completion, they likely accessed the course but did not meet the completion requirement.
If you would like, let me know whether the 2026 version was newly published or reassigned from the same course. That can also affect how completions appear.

Hi Lauren,
Thank you for your response.
We reassigned from the same course this year by updating the due date rather than creating a new version. Could that be causing the reporting discrepancy?
I reviewed the individual user statistics as you suggested, and their status shows Completed (2026), not “In Progress.” However, when I download the report, the completion date reflects 2025/24 instead.
- Would reassigning the same course (instead of publishing a new version) impact how completion dates are recorded in reports?
- Is the system pulling the original completion date rather than the most recent completion?
- Would publishing a new version of the course and reassigning it resolve this issue?
- Alternatively, would users need to re-enroll to generate a new completion date?
I want to ensure we’re setting this up correctly moving forward. Thank you for your support!
