Restart Course and Sidebar Menu

Good morning,

I am working on a course and have the sidebar menu on. When the user gets to the last slide they can click a button set with the Restart Course trigger, which does in fact take them back to the first slide. However, the slides all show as available on the sidebar menu, so the user can click around and go to slides throughout, even the questions slides. I was able to remove the question slides from the sidebar menu entirely, but am not sure if there is a way to restart the course and reset everything in the training.

Thank you in advance!

  • Hello Yazia,

Sorry to hear that you ran into this behavior.

We are currently tracking a bug that prevents the 'Restart course trigger' from resetting the restricted navigation in the Player menu. This includes the check marks that indicate if a learner has completed a slide or not.

As for resetting the slides, have you considered changing the revisit behavior of your slides to 'Reset to initial state' so that the contents of the slide will reset when a learner revisits them?

I've added this community post to the bug report so we can notify you as soon as a fix is released. Here's a quick look at how we manage bugs for your reference. Thanks for raising this with us!

      Hello,

Has this been fixed? I believe I am encountering the same bug.

        Hi BrookeBarker-eb,

        Thanks for reaching out!

We're still working on a fix for this, but now that you're subscribed to this thread, you'll get an update as soon as there's any news.

In the meantime, have you tried using "Reset to initial state" instead of "Restricted navigation"? It might do the trick while we sort this out.

Let me know if that helps or if you run into anything else. I'm happy to keep looking into it with you.
