Rise microlearning : is it possible to set the same full screen background image for several blocks on the same screen ?
Hi,
A question about design :
If you set an image as block-background on a screen containing only 1 block, the background image appears full screen, which makes the whole thing visually stunning. However, when the screen contains several blocks, I can't see how to set a single image as background for the whole screen. Is it possible to do this? If not, it would be a really interesting feature.
Best regards,
Vincent

Hello any answer on that one ?

Definitely not possible natively in Rise, but its a great design idea Pédagogie, please hold my coffee. Here's a peek at a new custom darkmode theme for microlearning with a persisting background image, plus custom background on an individual block (based on block id).

Hello,
I stumbled across this thread, as this (continuous background image over several blocks) is exactly what I was asking myself. I also found the YouTube video posted by you. While at the moment not possible in Rise itself, is there any explanation out there to realise the "continuous background image" after publishing to web or SCORM?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Best Regards
Christian
Hi there Vincent! It sounds like you want a continuous background image that spans the full length of the microlearning content, is that right? That's not a feature in microlearning currently, but it's an interesting idea!
I'm curious to hear if others have explored this design concept. How do you envision this working with a microlearning that contains any number of blocks?

Hi,
Found this on the Rise Roadmap:

Linked Block Backgrounds
Transform your design in a flash by linking background styles across multiple blocks.

It sounds like that would let blocks share the same styles, but not achieve a continuous/persisting background as in my POC.

Thank you for your replies @Phil and @Karl! Both options would be very interesting for me.
As for the Rise Roadmap --> this could be in the near future, so good timing at that point. And a sample CSS for a continuous course background would be very much appreciated!

I've documented this custom theme 'wrapper' you can download the source files here, and there is a video showing how to apply to your course. With a few lines of css, you can apply global styles to a blank microlearning course. I also show how you can design in the browser and restyle the cover page overlay.

Is this exclusive for microlearning course only?

Hi Terra yes this is only tested with microlearning, I may take a look at making one for regular courses.
