Scored Branching Scenarios
Using Storyline, I created my first course of branching scenarios for a Storyline block in a Rise 360 course. The intent was to provide the learner with three options per scenario - the best choice, an Okay choice, and a poor choice. The Okay choice would allow the learner to "recover" by branching to another scenario asking what they can do to recover the interaction and get back on track. Ultimately, if a learner chooses the correct response for each scenario, they should get 100% at the end. If the learner successfully recovers all branching scenarios, they should receive the passing score. Combinations of correct and okay/recoverable answers should also give the learner a passing score. Obviously, failing to make the correct selections or combinations thereof would give the learner a failing score. This gives my Storyline course 10 potential scored questions. However, when previewing the course to ensure that all is working well, I receive a failing score, even when I make all the correct selections. I suspect this is because it is expecting 10 responses and I have only answered 5. I am not sure what else to do. The settings for the Results slide look okay, but I think I am missing something. Thank you for your help!

The score includes all questions (not just viewed questions). As I tried to explain in my previous reply, that means the score includes the second-chance questions. But when the user answers correctly the first time, they don't see those questions—so they get 0 points for them.
Do the math.
The 5 first-try questions are each worth 10 points, for a sub-total of 50 points.
The 5 second-try questions are each worth 5 points, for a sub-total of 25 points.
Total points for all questions = 75.
A user who answers all correctly would get 50 points. That's about 66% of the total.
- Select "Only score viewed questions," and a user who answers all of those questions correctly would score 100%.
A user who answers all the first-try questions incorrectly but all of the second-try questions correctly would get 25 points. That's about 33% of the total.
- Adjust the Passing Score to 33%, and a user in this situation would pass.

If the issue is due to unviewed scenario questions, there's an easy fix: the Quiz Settings include an option to only score viewed questions.
Beyond that, troubleshooting is just guessing without a better understanding of the scoring and without seeing all the programming. Someone might be able to solve the issue if you upload the .story file. Here are the best practices for doing that:
- Only include slides that are related to the problem.
- Be sure objects, layers, motion paths, and variables have meaningful names.
- If there is proprietary content, replace or delete it. For example, replace proprietary text with “ipsum lorem” text.

Thank you, Judy. I am pretty sure that, because of my lack of knowledge of branching scenarios, it has something to do with variables. Attached is the Storyline file. It is very basic.

I'm not sure what variables you're thinking of since your course has no custom ones, and the couple of quiz ones are standard.
I toggled the box that Judy said to in the Quiz settings and the course works fine. I passed the first time with an 82. Without that box toggled, your course is calculating the points earned as a percentage of every quiz slide in the course, even the ones not viewed. In some courses that can be intended, but it's not in yours, so the screenshot she posted should be implemented.
