Screen reader compatibility in embedded Storyline interactions
I created a fully accessible Storyline interaction with the intention of embedding it in a Rise course.
Unfortunately, I am running into an issue. When the storyline is embedded in Rise, the screen reader will jump to the top of the browser after reaching the end of the focus order in the Storyline interaction. Instead, I would like to ensure the screen reader returns to the top of the focus order within the Storyline until the learner has completed the interaction.
Does anyone know if there is a way to achieve this? I am assuming there is a way - perhaps through some completion trigger? But I am yet to discover the answer!
Appreciate any insight!
Hi Aimee!
It sounds like you ran into some accessibility issues after embedding a Storyline block into your Rise 360 course.
I see that you've already opened a support case and connected with my colleague Ronaziel. You're in great hands working one on one with her!
It looks like Ronaziel replied to your e-mail with some feedback and steps you can take to share a screen recording of the issue as you are experiencing it.
We'll continue this conversation over in your support case to keep all information in one spot.

Hello,
I am actually working with Ronaziel on a similar, but different case.
This particular question was more of a generalized issue we have seen across all of our storyline interactions embedded in Rise.

Hi Aimee,
Thanks for the additional information. There isn't a way to change the behavior you observed unfortunately. I created a sample Rise 360 course with an embedded Storyline 360 block in the middle section, and I can confirm that tabbing through the embedded Storyline 360 block resulted in the focus order moving to the next block in the course.
Also, your contact information came through as well. This Peek video will show you how to edit it out if you’d like!
