Skipping slides when resume function doesn't work
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if there was a way to modify the datapoint or checkpoint within a student's account on the LMS so they could skip slides on a course? This is because sometime the resume function will not work after there is a disconnection from the internet. If there are better ways to help student jump to their slides in a restricted course, please let me know.
Students get frustrated after spending 2 hours on a course only to have to start over because the the resume function sometimes didn't work due to a disconnection from the internet.
Thank you in advance.

Hi TimTran-aa03125!
Sorry to hear you and your learners are running into this setback!
I can't speak to specific configurations that can be made on the LMS side. If you're open to sharing which LMS you're working with, perhaps other community members using the same one, can share suggestions.
However, I would like to highlight the Lost Connectivity Alert offered in Storyline. This feature is disabled by default, but can easily be switched on:
- Go to the Home tab on the Storyline ribbon and click Player.
- When the Player Properties window appears, click Other on the ribbon.
- In the Connectivity Alert section of the window, tick the Prevent learners from progressing when offline checkbox and click OK.
- Save the project file to keep it enabled every time you open the project.
Hope this helps!

Hi Steven,
Thank you very much for getting back to us so quickly and showing us that option! That option is actually the opposite of what we wanted. We wanted the student to be able to continue with the course until the connection is back and the course would sync up with the server. If you or anyone else have any other thoughts, please let us know, we would really appreciate it. Our LMS is based on Moodle if that helps with the solution.
Kind regards,
-Tim
