I know this query and comments are two years old, but think it's important to note that accessibility best practice is to use a unique title for each slide because they act as a heading. Doing so should also solve the issue of confusion when rearranging slides. The slide numbers need to reflect the actual order of the slides so that the menu sorts correctly.
