Slides Advancing Automatically Without Triggers

I'm experiencing a recurring issue in my project: some slides keep advancing automatically without the user clicking the "Next" button. I've double-checked and there are no triggers set to cause this behavior.

It's really frustrating—I keep running into bugs with Storyline, and it's becoming difficult to manage. Now, on top of that, when learners go back to those slides, the content doesn’t load and slides appear blank. This is affecting the whole learning experience.

I've seen posts on this same issue from years ago and it looks like the bug had not been fixed or something...

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Double-check your slide properties if you haven't already.

I am having this same issue. I keep changing the slide advances in the properties section to 'by user' and it keeps reverting back once I've saved the project. Any ideas?

        Hi Nancy,

Are you changing that setting in Story View or in the actual slide? While you can select the Prev and Next check box for multiple slides from Story View, I find that you need to update the Slide advance settings per individual slide.
