Storyline 360 x64 no difference with x32

Hello,

I tried the new SL 360 64bits for few days and there is absolutely no difference with the 32 bits version. The performance is still poor. Actually the software is slow and not reactive, even if the slide is not that full of elements, some check boxes with 3 lines of text is enough to slow SL. There is huge latency between the the time of an action (mouse click, grab, etc.) and the time when we see it at the screen. I'm used to it since months but was expecting that the x64 version will resolve this issue.

My PC:
CPU : i7 6820HQ 2.7 Ghz
RAM : 64 Gb DDR4
GPU: Quadro P2200
SSD : Nvme 1 To

My computer runs other demanding programs like a charm. Storyline is not that demanding and it's really slow.

  • This is disappointing to hear. I haven't tried it yet myself. Is their any means to report this information through the 64bit application as I know it is BETA. I'm just not sure how they are collecting information on the BETA performance.

    Hello,

    I have the same problem.

    My computer:
    CPU : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
    RAM : 16.0 GB
    GPU : GeForce GTX 960 m
    SSD : M2 256 Gb

With more demanding applications there are no problems.

I filed the bug report a few weeks ago. Still no answer.

    Thanks

I agree. no significant performance neither when working in the project interface or when publishing the courses. I have an heavy project that takes 30 minutes to publish, both on x32 or x64. CPU is at low usage when publishing and it does not use multi-threading during this process, why not?? (not to mention that the GPU optimization technologies are completely ignored both in project interface and in the publish process).

All audio tracks are encoded each time we publish, even if we set "compression" to "none" in the specific setting for each audio (while for video tracks the option works and the tracks are not re-encoded, by luck....)

Also pay attention of installing the builds after 3.88.32474.0, they are affected by significant bugs. All 4 companies that are developing with Storyline I am in contact with, stated to revert their SL version to 3.88.32474.0 as a workaround for all issues they encountered.

sorry to say we are not satisfied, because of no relevant improvement but worst of all because of new serious issues!
