Storyline adding over a minute to video timeline when published

I have a Storyline file published as a video that is 5:13 long. It publishes fine with no issues. When I insert it into another Storyline File, the video goes from 5:13 to 6:46. The video will play all the way through with no issues, but at 5:13, the audio stops, and the screen freezes with the visuals still up. At this point, the seek bar continues moving until 6:46, causing users to assume there is an error.  When I click on the video edit tab in the Storyline file into which it was inserted it shows the video at 5:13, nothing more.  Why would a video that is 5:13 long upload as one that is 6:46? What settings are causing this to happen?

  • No, I meant do you need to drag the timeline back, if you right click the video and click on show to end it should  shrink to its length and then drag the timeline back

  • IS it just the seeker could be the timeline needs dragging back a minute

I think you mean, did I insert the video at 1 minute instead of at 0? If not, could you please clarify?  Thanks

That did it!  It was set to "show to end" but when I disabled that setting and then reset it, it worked.  Thank you

If your timeline was already longer than the video's duration when you inserted it into the slide, ensure that the "Show until end" option for the video element is unchecked. Alternatively, adjust the timeline to match the video's length.
