Storyline adding over a minute to video timeline when published

No, I meant do you need to drag the timeline back, if you right click the video and click on show to end it should shrink to its length and then drag the timeline back
If your timeline was already longer than the video's duration when you inserted it into the slide, ensure that the "Show until end" option for the video element is unchecked. Alternatively, adjust the timeline to match the video's length.
