Storyline Block in Rise Stops When Not the Active Block
I have created a compliance timer in Storyline, added to Rise and only works properly when the block remains on screen. This block starts right away and when complete unlocks the final "Continue" button. The issue that I am having is that when the timer block is not on screen, the block seems to pause. If you return to the block, it resumes. This prevents our learners from completing the required content, while adhering to the time requirements.
I tested this with a RISE video block and if the video is playing and the video block is not on screen, the video continues in the background.
Can I get guidance on how to get the Storyline block to continue in the background in the same manner that the video block continues?

Hi JoshuaStape,
Thanks for reaching out!
The behavior you described, where the timeline of embedded Storyline 360 content pauses when the focus isn't on the course, is expected behavior. This behavior isn't specific to the Articulate 360 environment. You can also observe this when you upload your course to an external hosting platform like Amazon S3. Here's how I tested this behavior
- Published a Storyline 360 course for web distribution and uploaded it to Amazon S3.
- I used an online tool to simulate a simple HTML page and embedded the Storyline 360 course using an iframe. This setup mimics an embedded Storyline 360 block in a Rise 360 course.
There isn't a way to modify this behavior right now, but I'll let other community members chime in if they have an out-of-the-box solution they can share with you!
