Storyline July 2025 release - character issue
Hi SallyClay,
Thanks for reaching out! I tested this on my end and was able to insert characters that haven’t been downloaded from the Content Library without issues.
- Are you working and saving your project locally? We recommend working from your local hard drive to avoid erratic behavior.
- What character(s) do you experience this distortion and freezing with?
If you are working locally and still experiencing this, I suggest a repair of Storyline. A repair can fix some erratic behavior across multiple files.

Hi Luciana,
Thanks for your reply, I always use OneDrive to save projects at work so I can access them wherever I login. I have found it with any character I haven't previously downloaded so far.
I can't easily uninstall and reinstall Storyline as I need IT's support to do that. We are getting new devices soon with Windows 11 on though and hoping it will solve the issue I'm having.

Thanks for the clarification!
As LucianaPiazza mentioned, editing and saving your file on your local hard drive (typically your C: Drive), is recommended to avoid any file corruption. I understand it's not easy to conduct a Storyline repair when you need to get the IT team involved! It may be a good opportunity discuss this issue with them when you receive your new device. You can also let them know that these domains must be accessible on port 443, to ensure the Articulate apps work properly.
