Storyline Resource Tab

Is there a way to place headers in the Storyline resource tab?

  • The Resources tab doesn't include headers (though I assume those could be added with JavaScript).

For more customization, consider putting your resources on a slide, and add a custom tab to the Player that either jumps to the slide or lightboxes it.

Here's more info about that type of custom Player tab.

  • I don't think I quite understand what you mean by headers. Like tabs of a browser?

My reply was based on the assumption that "headers" meant titles for groups of resources (which would be a great feature).

That's why I suggested a custom tab to access a slide with resources on it. That allows for a custom design. Plus, the links/buttons could be bigger and with better spacing than the default Resources list has.

That makes a lot of sense, that Kristen means distinct groups of resources/links. I agree that would be a really cool feature.

  • Hey KristenNichols,

    Happy to help.

As Judy shared, Storyline does not support a header option within the Resources tab of the Player. Insight into why a feature matters and how its absence impacts users helps our team when evaluating what to build next.

Is the need for headers in the resources tab primarily about improving the learner experience, making the resources easier to manage for authors, or something else?
